I needed a newly renovated closet, simply because I literally had no more space for my things. When I say I utilized every nook, cranny, shelf, and hook, I mean it, to the point that a few of my shelves caved in from the weight I placed on them. I should be embarrassed to admit that it didn’t stop me from purchasing new clothes and shoes. It was organized chaos, and it eventually got to the point where I couldn’t take it anymore.

Last year, God dropped it in my spirit to create a prayer closet, and it's been on my heart ever since. A few months ago, I noticed another shelf in the closet was well on its way to falling, so I decided it was finally time to renovate the space. I reached out to several businesses to inquire about their closet renovation services; however, I figured it would be well out of my price range. Thankfully, my cousin Christal inspired my creative process.
I had a vision of what I wanted, and it was essential to have an area where I could commune with God. I shared my vision with my sister, and y’all—she jumped right into action. When I say she came through, she came through and taught me several invaluable lessons.

One: Show up for the ones you love. I must admit, I haven’t always been the best at showing up in ways others need me to, and that’s something I’m aware of and working on.
Two: I learned how to use a drill. Seriously!
Three: Always turn off the power when installing light fixtures. Lol. Just a little humor...
To my sister, I sincerely appreciate you. There were so many days you got off work and came straight to help me, with no excuses or complaints. For that, I am forever grateful. Your loyalty to family is unmatched, and as I enter the secret place, I am reminded to intercede on your behalf. Thank you, Jorge (Insider 😊)!!!
This renovation became more than just a makeover. It became a purging process physically, emotionally, and spiritually. I let go of clothes and shoes I no longer identified with. Some items made me ask, “Why the hell did I buy this?” But it was all part of a larger theme: making space.
There are several things I’m praying about, with the expectation that God will grant the desires of my heart as He has always done. But I also recognize this truth: to receive what I’m asking for, I must release what no longer fits—physically and spiritually. My prayer closet is not just a physical location but a spiritual meeting place where my heart is still, open, and fully surrendered to the presence of God.

My intention in creating this space is about surrender, love, intense desire, and alignment. God, I come into this secret place not to search, not to chase, but to align. I lay down every fear, every timeline, and every old wound so I may become the woman who holds what I’m asking for.
In conclusion, if you’ve felt the pull to create your own “secret place,” I encourage you to listen to that divine nudge. You don’t need a perfect space, just a willing heart.
As always, the divine in me recognizes the divine in you.

We have to allow ourselves to be in the "space" to hear God and then move accordingly! I applaud you for knowing how to "be still" and do His will! Your closet is beautiful and I pray that it will offer continous fulfillment for all that you endeavor in His name!
